Such nice guys! We came here mainly to use the range because they offered a membership rather than paying each time we come to shoot. My boys just got into archery through their school, so we wanted a safe place to practice regularly. I bought a genesis bow on Amazon because that's what they used at school. But I'm in way over my head because I don't know a thing about archery. We brought our new bow in and these guys didn't hesitate to help us set up the bow, free of charge. They then informed us that they don't charge for kids in archery through the school to use the range. They were so patient with my boys and my many questions, and were full of advice on shooting and how to care for our new bow, even though we didn't purchase it there. ~ E. S

I am new into archery but wanted my family to explore this. I purchased a used Mathews bow that needed much fitting to my needs. I also purchased my children bows online, diamond / bowtech brand. I took all our gear to James River to be sized and fitted and they made us feel like family even with our own gear not purchased from them. The staff spent a solid 2 hours between myself and my two kids to get everyone sized correctly and geared out and It ended up being 40 bucks. I feel like they disserve more. Thank you for your attention to detail and comfort level addressed to my children. I won't use another shop. ~ Chad D

I ordered a UV thumb release, not realizing large had somehow been selected, I placed the order. My wife sends me a picture of it saying that it’s the large and not the medium. I contacted James Rivers sales department about the mix up and not even 24hrs later I have a different release on the way and they accepted my return. I live in a small town and the only pro shop around just doesn’t carry high end products when it comes to certain items. The next option is a big chain store which I try my hardest to avoid. I just wanted to say thank you for not making this accident my fault and working with me! ~ Justin O

I'm getting ready to have major shoulder surgery and Chris and the boys fixed me up today with a new TenPoint crossbow. I chose to buy this crossbow from James River instead of Bass Pro due to the knowledge of the staff and the fact that these guys can fix or work on whatever you purchase. I am thrilled with the purchase although I may have to eat ramen noodles for a month but the bow was definitely spot-on right out of the box! This is a great store with knowledgeable staff and their prices are comparable with other Sporting Good Outlets. I definitely recommend these guys for the serious bow shooter/hunter. Had a really great experience here this spring. I went in for a basic peep install on a new to me bow, and ended up with a overdraw-dry fire due to the previous bow owner setting up the bow wrong. My fault, as I didn't ask these great folks to check the bow over first. Their response to the dry fire was nothing short of professional. Their first priority was safety, and they checked every one out to make sure we and the staff were not injured. They quickly repaired my bow, and it shoots like a dream. If I lived in MO I would be visiting these guys frequently. ~ jarod h

You know the firat time I went in here last year I had a hard time getting a used Hoyt lined out well went there this year and bought a V3 and they really took care of me built the bow in less than an hour,now granted I gotta shoot it couple hundred times before we paper tune it but still they really helped me out,answered all my questions,and Calvin is awesome that guy has pretty much taught me how to shoot a bow from the ground up.I really appreciate all the guys up there thank you for everything ~ John J

My daughter and I are new to bow hunting and went in not knowing much of anything. We had bought our bows at an outlet. To say we were educated would be an understatement. First they were very patient with us, not showing if they were ever annoyed. Second, they took the time to teach us about everything on the bow etc. The guy in the range took the time to show us how to draw etc. and we each got to shoot the bows. We walked out with everything we needed including the equipment and education. Thanks guys. ~ Derek L

I just went today 2 JAN 2019 from Fort Leonard Wood MO to have my Mathews Z7 set up to me. There’s shops around base but none can surpass the friendliness and professionalism of these guys working here. Im very pleased with the service and expert advice and not push to buy the latest and greatest. I will definitely be back often m. Thanks again guys you’re awesome and the range is nice. Made my 3rd trip in there last night. First was browsing and talking, shot a new bow. (Which I can't afford) 2nd time I brought in a bow I was going to purchase and they helped me decide I could do better. Last night I brought one in I bought used and the manager (Chris) helped me set it up, tune it, got it in time and cut me some arrows. Great guy. Friendly and helpful even though I didn't buy the bow there. Can't wait to go back! ~ Scott D

This shop is the best one I've been to. Chris is a genius with tuning and everything else you could ask for. They have the best selection of everything in town from bows, to camo, to trail cams, to stands. Very very helpful and they set up my new Elite to my standards even though I didn't get the bow from them. Great 20 yd range. Check these guys out and give them your business!! The guys at James River Archery are terrific. James tuned up our bows and suggested an upgrade to the arrow support that would add stability to my shots. Wow, what a difference. He installed the arrow rest and got it so close to the previous alignment that there was no need to zero in again. I could never have done that on my own. These guys are very helpful and knowledgable. We always go there to shoot at their indoor range. Thanks!! ~ Jim &

Third season hunting with crossbow so still kind of new at hunting with one. This is a great shop. Honest answers to my questions and always willing to help. Customer service is great, which is hard to find these days. Prices are always in line if not better than online shops. Plus they are local. I hunt with Wicked Ridge and they always have bolts with Accunock in stock. ~ Matt B

I came in today with my bow to get tuned and fitted. Im fairly inexperienced with bow hunting, the guys at James River were full of advice and willing to help. They were beyond friendly and the guy at the range was very helpful and gave me several helpful tips. Just went there couple days ago wile I was in the area. Very nice willing to answer any questions. He ended up getting me set up with a new bow. The older gentleman that was in there made sure to ask a lot of questions to make sure I knew what I was looking for and had a great attitude about him. We take our granddaughter every year for a tune up before archery competitions begin. This year we were pleased to have our granson join her. The guys here fixed her up and then set our grandson up with a lefty bow and everything he needed for his 1st year! They both did some practicing to be sure they were ready to go. I'm a total newby to bow hunting. They helped me completely set up my new bow. They did not oversell me in anyway! The gentleman that helped me probably spent a hour with me. Needed a sight light. James river sold it for the lowest price so I bought it. I received it fast but it was not working. I called them and they sent me one immediately without receiving the bad one first. I thought that was nice of them. Received the new one and works great. These guys are absolutely awesome, and I love the store. You can tell they’re passionate about what they do and they want others to enjoy the sport. About a year and a half ago I bought Matthew‘s phase 4 from them and they’ve been absolutely fantastic each time I’ve been into the shop for new gear, tips, and help becoming better with the bow. Excellent customer service and a great selection of products. I came in seeking a new pair of binos for use during university field work. This pro shop has friendly and knowledgeable people. They treat you like a friend as soon as you walk through the door. I don’t get that at any other shop in town. Found James River Archery when searching for a locally owned store to buy beginner archery equipment. They were very helpful in picking a bow for me and my girlfriend to learn archery - and they even have an indoor range.
